What Is FMEA?

FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is a preventive risk analysis method used in industry to anticipate potential failures of a product or process before they occur. It comes in two forms — Design FMEA and Process FMEA — and helps prioritize corrective actions based on the criticality of each identified risk.

The full implementation of the method — rating, action plans, integration into the quality system — is covered in detail in our dedicated training.
